How to get hired at Wichita Fire Department
The City of Wichita hires entry-level Fire Recruits through a recurring multiple-position posting; applications stay active for one year. Selected applicants are invited by email to an oral interview board and a physical/running component, then a physical exam and extensive background check. Recruits without an EMT complete an in-house EMT program before the fire training program.
