How to get hired at Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District
Sac Metro Fire posts firefighter openings on its NeoGov job board, and candidates can subscribe to a job interest card for each job title. Firefighter applicants need at least a California EMT certification. A paramedic license is not required but improves the odds of being hired, and many applicants first gain experience in the district's non-suppression Metro Medic ambulance program. New hires attend a full-time paid recruit academy.
